Marie Turley Claim

During my internship at Vanderbilt University I worked with clients who were dealing with depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, career questions, and eating disorders. I have also worked with children with behavior problems in school. For over a decade, I worked with Better Decisions, a program that went into the women’s prison, CCA jail, and Woodland Hills, teaching decision-making. Participants in this program had opportunities to gain control of their lives by becoming aware of destructive life patterns and learning new ways to solve problems. I also work as a part-time facilitator with Adventureworks, a company that uses experiential learning to build better teams, improve communication, and foster personal growth. In experiential learning, participants solve problems while working together in creative and fun ways. We use activities such as ropes courses, games, and other interactive events as tools to address issues relevant to each group. Productive work and laughter can go together.
